product description

DuploColl 50001 LSE from Lohmann is the right adhesive tape if you want to permanently bond low surface energy materials. LSE stands for Low Surface Energy and clearly identifies this foam adhesive tape for use on non-polar surfaces. With a material thickness of approx. 1 mm, it provides vibration damping and enables stress-free bonding of different materials. At the same time, it compensates for differing expansion behavior of various substrates during temperature fluctuations.

The foam tape is also recommended for bonding uneven or structured surfaces. Under applied pressure, the foam carrier penetrates recesses and compensates for irregularities due to the thickness of the carrier. As a result, the adhesive tape bonds immediately after application.

Adhesive / Carrier
The white foam carrier is fully coated on both the exposed and covered sides with a synthetic rubber adhesive. The combination of excellent initial tack and compressible polyethylene foam increases the effective bonding area. The synthetic rubber adhesive can be used without loss of adhesion strength in temperature ranges from -25 °C to +80 °C. For protection, the adhesive tape is covered with a blue polyethylene liner.

Tips & Notes

Although the foam tape is highly temperature-resistant, the recommended processing temperature is between +18 °C and +35 °C. The substrates to be bonded should also be acclimatised to room temperature prior to application to prevent condensation, which could negatively affect adhesion.

Applications

  • Bonding of non-polar substrates such as polyethylene and polypropylene
  • Permanent fastening of covers as well as decorative and functional trims in interior applications
  • Mounting of hooks and holders in sanitary and kitchen areas
  • Self-adhesive coating of various materials such as metal, plastic, glass and wood variants

Quality features
During the manufacture of DuploColl 50001 LSE, Lohmann refrains from using toluene. In addition, the foam adhesive tape offers good die-cutting properties.
